What is the Formula for Success?

  • Firstly, we need to give 100% to our efforts.......
  • But what does 100% mean and what equals 100%?
  • Following that, what does it take to achieve 100%?

Since we live in a universe which is technically a mathematical equation, Maybe we should use mathematics to answer the above questions.

Let's do a quick calculation: Take the letters of the alphabet below:

and let them be represented by the following sequenced numbers:

 Now take the following word and number sequence it - :

K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E

11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%

and do the same thing with the word - :

H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K

8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%

now do the same thing with the word - :

A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E

1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%

Therefore, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that:

While Hard Work and Knowledge will get you close to your goal,   Attitude will put you solidly on your path to achieving your goals.


The above may be a bit of tongue in cheek, but it is a starting block, and you will do well should you take heed and take action with a positive a-t-t-i-t-u-d-e. This is literally where the magic begins.

Remember that no one else is going to motivate you on a daily basis. Motivation comes from within, and without this, the road to success is going to be a near impossible task.

If your work is what you take pleasure in, then work will not be a daily grind, but rather a fun filled journey.

Some of the most important points to remember are:

  • Inspire Yourself,
  • Trust your Instincts,
  • Believe in Yourself,
  • Be Unwavering in your Determination to Succeed,
  • Persevere over every obstacle.

Don't let fear hold you back. To have a certain amount of fear is healthy, as long as it does not consume you.

You WILL have set backs on your journey but if you Perseverance and Persist, the chances of success increase considerably. Perseverance and  Persistence is what should take you to the finish line.

The man himself, Albert Einstein, the brain above all others, had a formula for success as well. It simply states the following:

If A equals success, then the formula is: A=X+Y+Z.

X is work.

Y is play.

Z is keep your mouth shut.

This "Brain Wrenching Formula" was what Einstein believed you needed and it consisted of only a few elements.

"Keeping your mouth shut" was possibly Einstein's 'KEY' element of his formula for success.

  • Knowing when not talk and when to listen was vital.
  • Listen to others.
  • Listen to yourself.
  • Listen to nature.
  • Listen to the inner power.


We all love hearing our own voice. It has a certain ring to it and makes up feel important. But that is mostly vanity and self enrichment. To Einstein self enrichment should never be the reason for seeking success.

Einstein, however, was not someone who did a lot of talking. He simply did his work, a bit of playing and a bit of talking. Einstein felt that we should all concentrate on contributing value to society as a whole, and to stop chasing success. By contributing to society in a meaningful way, success was possible.

Aristotle put it in context for us when he stated - The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

It also depended on what you defined as success. Ensuring that we feel important is not what success is. Contributing towards success for the betterment of society as a whole was true success to him, and if anybody should know, Einstein should.

We need to find "That Thing" what we truly love doing and make that our vocation - our work - our labor of love. In others words - If our vocation felt like a vacation, then you have found your niche in life and there would be a universe filled with happy people.

Once again, Aristotle, the master Greek philosopher stated it well by stating; - Where your talents and the needs of the world cross; there lies your vocation.
