INSPIRE A CHILD
By Michael Sage

Inspire a child when you’re annoyed and riled
Inspire a child when you’re confused and beguiled

Inspire a child if they reckless an wild
Inspire a child if they meek and mild

Because greatness lies in the wild and the mild
Because greatness resides in every living child

THE MOLE
by Michael Sage

Our gardens newest resident,
A pesky little mole,
Did dig his furrows far and wide
And hid away, when we were on patrol

Then one day, quite by accident
Into the pool, the wingless bat did roll
My thoughts were to ensure, his final demize
and take back our garden, with full control

But my sweet wife's little heart, did melt
And rubbed its tiny chest, and re-awakend his soul
Then placed that pesky pest
Back down his burrowed hole

The dogs, however, would have none of that
and lost all sense, of self control
Then rushed in, and grabbed that little rat
Alas, no more! - Time to flush him down the toilet bowl

Friends
by Michael Sage

There once was a bee, a good little bee
Who lived in hive, in an old gumtree
He had a friend, a tiny little flea
Who lived on a furry, little bunny

He's a boy, so he's a he
His names are short, he's called Jon Lee
His friend's a girl, so she's a she
Her names so cute, she's called Rosalee

Although unusual, and quite funny
They were true friends, the best that could be
They would meet quite often, for a nice cup of tea
Sweetened with a dollop, of delicious honey

They loved to hop and play, and yell yippee
And make strange noises, like a squirrel monkey
Or shout and scream, and yell whoopee
As they skip over branches, like a chimpanzee

It's great to run around, and shout with glee
With friends who make you feel, happy and free
We all are different, I'm sure you'll agree
Accepting that difference, is the friendship key
